SwiftK12 – Sample School Closure Content: Closures, Delays and Early Dismissals

The following are sample messages to assist with content that you may consider when developing and sending closure or delay alerts through SwiftK12:

Tip! To ensure that parents opted in to receive your school closure notification receive it based on their parent portal preferences, it is recommended to use a School Closure or similar alert category and manage associated category preference overrides via your Settings. For information on developing and managing Alert Categories, please click here to review your initial settings.

 

Note:  Items noted in parentheses are to be used as reminders and are not available merge fields within SwiftK12.

Subject: School Closed Today: This is a message from [school/]: We will be closed today, [today/], due to (reason). To repeat, [school/] will be closed [today/] due to (reason).

Subject: School Closed Tomorrow: This is a message from [school/]: We will be closed tomorrow, [tomorrow/], due to (reason). To repeat, [school/] will be closed [tomorrow/] due to (reason).

Subject: Delayed Opening: This is a message from [school/]: We will have a (# of hours) delay today, [today/], due to (reason). To repeat, [school/] will have a (# of hours) delay today, [today/], due to (reason).

Subject: Early Dismissal: This is a message from [school/]: We will be dismissed at (Time) today, [today/] due to (reason). To repeat, [school/] will be dismissed at (Time) today, [today/] due to (reason).
